A recent report indicates Italians have expressed displeasure with the inefficiency of the public transport networks in their country.
This is according to a report issued by a leading consumer association, Altroconsumo. Out of 12 cities analyzed, only two passed the people's vote – Padua, which boasts a well-working railway, and Turin, which has an efficient subway system. Rome, Venice and Milan were deemed below standards.
The Altroconsumo association has repeatedly criticized Italy's transportation system, launching a campaign aimed at spreading awareness on commuters' rights. They also focused and on the need of increasing sustainable mobility through investments in critical infrastructures, including urban parking areas where commuters can leave their cars and jump on trains.
Altroconsumo claims that Italians lack "the culture of leaving at home the car and taking the bus, or rather walk."
